As a former vegan, I think this is a great alternative.

Well, well, well...after having been vegan for nearly 10 years, but being told by my GP that my B12 levels were dangerously low, hence my chronic fatigue, I decided to google "synthetic meat." Lo and behold, I find this article written by my first crush back in middle school. (Yes, Emily, it's your old nemesis John writing this, though I prefer to be called Jay now...long story on why but I won't get into it here). I'm certainly not here to flirt, Emily, I assume you are happily married with your own family by now - we're 36 and not 13 anymore. More seriously, I wonder if these synthetic meat alternatives are actually beneficial to your health. I've been told that "synthetic anything" is usually bad - synthetic marijuana aka K2, Spice is far worse than real authentic marijuana (not that I smoke either!) Years ago, I had an extremely unhealthy diet and had developed gallstones and gout at 26 years old, prompting my GP at the time to say "John, you're 26, but you've got the body of an 84 year old." The jerk in question also told me that he doubted I'd see my 30th birthday. I adopted a vegan diet ever since, but as you see, that has its drawbacks too, as I often find myself struggling to get out of bed as late as 11AM. Perhaps, if more research is done on the subject, I'll find myself a "believer" in the power of lab-grown synthetic meat. But this is definitely food for thought (pun intended). Hope you are well after all these years.
